Reading The City
Reading The City is an ongoing sensory investigation into how urban spaces are experienced beyond what is immediately visible.
The practice began through walking across many areas in London and recording the city through sound, sketching, photography, observation, and the collection of textures from different places. These fragments of everyday experience were then translated into sensory maps, revealing layers of atmosphere, memory, movement, and perception within the urban environment.
Through this process, the city is approached not simply as a physical structure, but as a living environment with its own soul, character, and sensory identity.
